Are Rome's streets easy to walk?

Central Rome is paved with historic basalt cobblestones (sampietrini), which can be uneven and slick in the rain. Comfortable, flat walking shoes are essential. The historic center is mostly flat, though routes over Aventine, Janiculum, or Capitoline involve gentle stone ascents.

Do I need special clothing for church stops?

Yes. Many stops visit or pass active basilicas and churches. If you step inside, knees and shoulders must be covered. The audio stories work perfectly from outside in the piazza if you prefer not to queue or go inside.

What languages are available for Rome?

The Rome collection is multilingual, offering independent routes authored in Spanish, Russian, English, German, French, and Italian. Each walk was written separately rather than translated, giving different perspectives on the city.

How much does a Rome walk cost?

The first story of every walk and the complete written text of all stops are completely free. When anyone unlocks unvoiced stops on a route, those audio stories become permanently free for all future visitors.
